Even though Jesus is meant to be the light of the world (AKA the ultimate guide), looking back, at that time, the world as a whole didn’t care that much. In fact, because of the legalistic complications (which we’ll see later), Jesus’s own people didn’t care either! (1:10-11)
However, many people throughout history, from the OG disciples to today’s churches (and yes, it can include YOU!), have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and believed in him. All of them are now adopted into Jesus’s family as children of God (1:12). And all that is able to happen because God willed the salvation plan to happen (1:13)!
