John 10:22-25

Then comes the Feast of Dedication, which happened in winter. Jesus walked in the temple but encountered some Judeans.

The Judeans surrounded Jesus and wanted confirmation that Jesus was the Christ. In the context, "Christ" to the Judeans is basically a hero that would save the Judeans (against the Romans). But Jesus had a different view of the role of the "Christ".

In fact, Jesus reminded them that he already told them and even gave evidence of the credentials. In particular, Jesus talked about how his works "bear witness of [Him]" (10:25). We've seen how Jesus's works reveal himself in the healing of the blind man in John 9. Additionally, Coffman talked about how Jesus's use of "good shepherd" references that he is the Christ and that directly answering may lead to the Judeans using Jesus's words as a "charge of sedition" (Study Light).
