John 2:6-12

Now here's the part where Jesus turns water into wine. Looks like his "hour" did come after all.

But while Jesus did the well-known miracle, the servants had a role in it. Jesus told the servants to "fill the waterpots with water" and "draw some out" (2:7-8), and the servants obeyed. Note the phrase "water" rather than "wine". It definitely doesn't make sense to put water in when wine is running out, but the servants trusted Jesus because they knew who He is. Because Jesus is God, he could make edits in His creation -- kinda like the level creators in Super Mario Maker!

Many people are familiar with Jesus doing miracles, but it's worth noting that we could also play a role in them. We can still experience Jesus working (he still does stuff even if it's not physics-defying water-to-wine) as we express our trust in Him via obedience.

And turns out that the master realized that the wine was replenished -- even though he may not know that the wine was from water. Not just any wine -- good wine! He was definitely amazed at what happened!

Unsurprisingly, the water-to-wine is officially listed as one of Jesus's signs. These signs "manifested His glory" (AKA reveal who Jesus is) and reinforced the disciples' belief in Jesus as who He is. (2:11)

After a few days, Jesus went out to more cities to do even more miracles and to further reveal Himself.
