John 6:37-40

Jesus recently talked about how he is the bread of life, but he also shares some behind the scene info. In particular, Jesus shared the will of the Father.

Part of the will of the Father is that of the people the Father gave Jesus, Jesus "should lose noting, but should raise it up at the last day" (6:39) Jesus even talked about how those who come to Jesus would never be "cast out" (6:37). The Father is definitely like a completionist, and he has great focus on ensuring that everyone who comes makes it.

Part of the will of the Father is that everyone who "sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life" (6:40). Factoring in 3:16 and 5:24 means that the will also extends to everyone who believes in Jesus (even though they may not be alive at Jesus's time). Jesus comments about how he will raise believers at the last day, too (6:40).

Regarding the will of the Father, Jesus committed to do the will of the Father rather than Jesus's own will. Another great example of the Father and Jesus working together. Because of the strong connections and commitment, we can rest in the promises that when we believe in Jesus, we are guaranteed eternal life.
