John 9:35-38

The blind man got healed by Jesus but got rejected by the Jewish society. But the healed man wasn't totally rejected.

Eventually, Jesus found out of the rejection of the healed man and came to him. Jesus asked the healed man if he believes in the Son of God (9:35). At first the healed man didn't know who the Son of God was, but then Jesus revealed that he was the Son of God (9:36-37). As a result, the healed man believed in Jesus and even worshipped him (9:38).

One takeaway is that even we are treated as social outcasts, Jesus shows great compassion to us. His most famous example of compassion for us is when he died on the cross and rose from the dead for our behalf to demonstrate that Jesus can overpower death (which John will discuss later on). Also, as hinted a few verses later, part of Jesus's compassion is being healed from the guilt and shame of our past screw-ups towards others, and if we're honest, we definitely need healing in that department.

And just like the healed man, we can believe in the Son of God. From past verses like John 3:16 and John 5:24, believing in Jesus is how we receive the gift of God's compassion. Believing in Jesus is accepting that we need Lord Jesus (who is Son) to be healed from our not-so-good record of screw-ups and counting on Jesus for his great compassion -- eternally (via his death/resurrection). That's it for us. Jesus as Lord (and Son) has the authority to heal us from our past mistakes and Jesus as Savior displays great compassion and gives his gift of everlasting life, even if society treats us as a nobody.

For the readers who decided to accept Jesus and count on Him for saving us, you are guaranteed everlasting life. I don't have a "I raise my hand" button or "I accepted Jesus" button because faith starts internally. (You can raise your hand though.)
